Seniors Socializing

In-Home Aide

Duties:  

In-home aide services are personal in nature including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) assisting with transferring, ambulation, eating, bathing, grooming, toileting, & incontinence. An in-home aide also assists clients with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) or basic home management tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, socialization, & medication reminders.

Qualifications

In-home aides must:

  1. Minimum of 18 years of age. 

  2. CNA preferred.

  3. High-school graduate or enrolled in a high school or GED program with graduation expected within 12 months.

  4. Maintain a clean criminal background report.

  5. Understand, speak, read, and write English clearly. 

  6. Have the ability to: lift, push, or pull 25 pounds; bend, twist, stoop, kneel, & reach; walk independently up & down a normal flight of stairs; withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew, and cleaning solutions; treat & care for clients & their property with dignity & respect; adapt to various living environments & locations; communicate with clients in a friendly & congenial manner.

  7. Submits to drug screening as requested.
